In-Patient Unit

Bright, comfortable and spacious, the Mary Stevens Hospice In-Patient Unit is a home away from home for patients.

The 10-bed facility is designed to provide the best possible care and comfort for all residents. The unit accepts patients who are aged 18 or above and are suffering from a life-limiting illness.

Every room benefits from an attractive view of the Hospice’s sunny patio area and landscaped grounds, while many feature specially adapted en-suite facilities including showers and spa baths, plus mobility aids for patients who need them.

Patients can stay for just few days and nights to have their symptoms controlled and their condition stabilised before returning home, while others are cared for during the final stages of their illness.

Round-the-clock medical and nursing care is provided by the dedicated team and patients are also free to make the most of the activities offered at the Day Services Unit.

Visiting

11am – 8pm

Whilst there is no restriction on the number of visitors a patient can receive, we respectfully ask you to consider co-ordinating both the number of visitors and the duration of visits. Some patients may be too tired to see visitors, and may ask us to set restrictions, with some asking for no visitors at all. We would ask you to respect such requests and liaise with family members and friends if necessary.

Children and pets are welcome to visit. We kindly ask that you inform the Nurse in Charge of intended visits and that respect is given to the needs of other patients and their visitors.

Please visit our ‘Coronavirus Guidance’ page on our website to read our guidance for visitors.
