Art & Poetry Exhibition

A powerful and moving exhibition of artwork and poetry, created by local people on themes of grief and loss along their bereavement journey

Art & Poetry Exhibition

Back in May 2023, the bereavement team at The Mary Stevens Hospice offered creative art workshops during Dying Matters Week at Stourbridge Institute and Red House Glass Cone, for children, young people and adults who are bereaved, using creativity to express their thoughts and feelings. These events were very successful and had a great turn out.

Following from this event, the bereavement team met with Sally-Anne Rock who is a poet and writer from the Black Country. They agreed to collaborate, providing a workshop for adults at Stourbridge Library, using creative writing to create poems by responding to their own artwork or meaningful objects for people who are bereaved.

The artwork created from the Dying Matters event and the poems from the poetry workshop, will be displayed at The Art Yard Gallery, 19-20 Upper High St, Cradley Heath B64 5HX, 11th September to 14th October 2023.

Gallery opening hours are:

Monday – Friday 10am – 5pm

Saturday 10am – 3pm
