Day Services Unit

Hospice care that helps you live well every day

Open Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, our Day Services Unit offers a welcoming space for people living with a life-limiting illness. It is somewhere to feel supported, understood and less alone, with a team who care for the whole person, not just the illness.

Support that makes daily life feel brighter

Our Day Services Unit is here to help people live as fully and comfortably as possible while staying at home. Patients may attend for symptom management, access to therapies and groups, social connection or simply a safe place to focus on wellbeing.

Every person is welcomed as an individual. We take time to understand your needs - whether that’s practical advice, medical support, or an activity that lifts your spirits.

Day Services Unit

Our Day Services Unit is about much more than care; it’s about helping people feel more like themselves, find comfort in connection, and discover small moments of joy and ease. Every visit is shaped around the needs of the individual, with a wide range of support available.

Programmes that build confidence and ease symptoms

Our structured programmes, including eight-week courses and FAB groups (Fatigue, Anxiety and Breathlessness), provide practical tools, encouragement and peer support to help manage symptoms and improve daily life.

Activities and therapies to lift spirits and bring comfort

From gentle exercise sessions and creative workshops to complementary treatments such as relaxation and aromatherapy, our activities are designed to support your overall wellbeing.

Specialist support shaped around your needs

Access to neurological groups, symptom management clinics, advance care planning and therapies such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy and art psychotherapy, all tailored to your needs.

Emotional and spiritual care for you and those close to you

Reflective sessions like Monday Musings and pet therapy offer space for reflection, comfort and reflection for both you and those close to you.

Support beyond medical care

Living with illness can affect every part of life, which is why our social work team is here to help with practical worries and support. For some, it’s about guidance with benefits or future care planning; for others, it’s simply knowing there’s someone who will listen. Carers and those important to our patients are supported too - because we know that when someone is unwell, it impacts everyone around them.

What matters most to us is that you feel supported, respected, and able to make the most of your time in a way that feels right for you. Whether that means attending a group, enjoying a quiet therapy session, we’re here to make sure each visit feels meaningful and personal to you.
