Community Engagement

Hospice care belongs to the community it nurtures

Through our community engagement work, The Mary Stevens Hospice works alongside local groups, schools, faith communities, and organisations to raise awareness of hospice care, improve access and understand the needs of our community.

Conversations that matter

Talking about death, dying, and grief isn’t easy, but we believe these community conversations are important. Through talks, book clubs, creative activities, and community events, we create supportive and informative spaces where people can share experiences, listen to others and ask questions. By opening up these conversations, we help strengthen community understanding and resilience around end-of-life care and loss.

Working together, learning together

Our team works in partnership with local groups, libraries, schools, faith communities, and people with lived experience - listening and learning as much as we share. By being present in these spaces, we gain a better understanding of the barriers people experience and help raise awareness of hospice care. At its heart, this work is about connection, relationships, and working alongside our community.

Your support makes what we do possible

When you choose to support The Mary Stevens Hospice, you’re not only helping us provide hospice care today, you’re helping us protect the future of the hospice, ensuring that people in our community will always have somewhere to turn when they need it most.
