When you choose to support The Mary Stevens Hospice, you’re not only helping us provide care today, you’re helping us protect the future of the hospice, ensuring that people in our community will always have somewhere to turn when they need it most.
After the success of our 2026 Sunflower Growing Competition, we are inviting our community for a second time collect a pouch of free sunflower seeds, take them home, plant them, and nurture their Spirituality. This is as part of National Gardeners' Week.
We’re giving away free sunflower seed packets at our hospice shops, hospice receptions, and Clent Nurseries - so you can start growing your very own sunflower at home. Over the next couple of months, nurture your plant and watch it reach for the sky.
By 5th August 2026, share the height of your sunflower with us, and we’ll visit to measure the tallest blooms. There are prizes for both first and second place, so whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just getting started, everyone is welcome.
This initiative is also an opportunity to explore the importance of spiritual care - taking time to step outside, connect with nature, and support your wellbeing. Many people find that gardening makes them feel peaceful. We’d love to see your progress along the way, follow us on Facebook for updates and share your sunflower journey with our community.
Don’t forget to register below to let us know you’ve picked up your seeds, and if you’re growing your sunflower in memory of someone special.
Whether you have a question about our care, need guidance on accessing support, or want to know more about how you can get involved, our team is here to help.
