Sunflower Growing Competition 2026

We’re giving away free sunflower seed packets at our hospice shops, hospice receptions, and Clent Nurseries - so you can start growing your very own sunflower at home. Over the next couple of months, nurture your plant and watch it reach for the sky.

By 5th August 2026, share the height of your sunflower with us, and we’ll visit to measure the tallest blooms. There are prizes for both first and second place, so whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just getting started, everyone is welcome.

This initiative is also an opportunity to explore the importance of spiritual care - taking time to step outside, connect with nature, and support your wellbeing. Many people find that gardening makes them feel peaceful. We’d love to see your progress along the way, follow us on Facebook for updates and share your sunflower journey with our community.
