Hundreds of people joined us at the Waterfront for this year's Black Country Duck Race, filling the canal banks. Seeing hundreds of ducks bobbing their way down the canal is always a sight to remember, and with a little help from the local fire brigade along the way, the race certainly kept everyone entertained.
Visitors browsed a variety of craft and community stalls, enjoyed live music from talented local performers and soaked up the brilliant atmosphere. The day ended in style with a lively performance from Bhangra Smash Up, giving everyone one last reason to celebrate.
Congratulations to the owner of duck number 815, who crossed the finish line first to win the £100 cash prize and the Mick Bailey Memorial Trophy.
A huge thank you to our headline sponsors, Dreamland Bedding Centre, NBB Waldrons Solicitors and Blackthorns Chartered Accountants, and to Alcedo Care West Midlands for sponsoring the main stage (and arriving in style on their own pedalo!).
We raised an incredible £15,972, supporting to continue our specialist palliative and end-of-life care. Thank you to everyone who supported, donated and purchased a duck!
