Throughout May, we'll be recognising the incredible staff who make up the clinical team here at the Hospice!

Nurses’ Month – May 2017

We’ve teamed up with our dear friends at Distraction Box to create Nurses’ Month, celebrating the incredible staff that make up the clinical team here at the Mary Stevens Hospice.

The month will work in three parts:

  • ALL Hospice nurses here will receive a token of appreciation from the amazing team at Distraction Box
  • We will be inviting nominations from colleagues and members of the public, to find a nurse who deserves special recognition – 3 of whom will be chosen to receive a special gift at the end of the month!
  • There will be a public raffle to win a “Box of Happy Distractions”, with all funds raised donated to the Hospice at the end of the month

Rachael Field, Founder, Distraction Box said:

“My Nan spent some time in the Hospice before she sadly passed away.  It was a traumatic time for the family, but I remember the kindness of the Hospice nurses so fondly during that time.  They were not only wonderful with my Nan, but they really supported us as a family.

I decided to give back to the Hospice and joined as a volunteer in IPU (my Nan would have wanted it!).  Since working behind the scenes, my respect for the work the nurses do has grown even more! That is why I’m partnering with MSH to remind the nursing team how much they are loved and appreciated.”
